Call me stupid, but are these really misused quotes? Is it not possible that they were being quoted saying such a thing? Perhaps the quotes are indeed a little unnecessary, but we all know there's far worse out there than this. This example just seems nit-picky to me. Though, then again, so is this comment...
Hence there's a whole blog out there of "far worse" examples. I just pulled a random one from their blog.
